Unshaved Hair Transplantation

Unshaved Hair Transplantation

Many people who suffer from hair loss are seeking remedy in hair transplantation operations. There are different methods used in hair transplantation. The success of the operation performed in the methods used in the past was not very high. In addition, the patient could experience pain after the anesthesia had passed. However, these problems were prevented with modern methods. With the recently used FUE technique, more successful and painless results can be achieved.

In order to collect grafts in the FUE technique, the area from which tissue is taken should be scraped. This makes many patients aesthetically uncomfortable. Some patients who do not want to have their hair shaved are looking for remedy like unshaved hair transplantation. There are different methods for this. The same results are obtained with the FUE technique, but the operation can be performed without the need for shaving the hair.

How is Unshaved Hair Transplant performed?

Unshaved hair transplantation requires more precision than other hair transplantation methods. The reason for this is that it is difficult to reach the roots as a result of not shaving the hair. Patients need to extend their hair slightly before the operation. The area for graft collection is determined for the operation. Graft collection should be performed in such a way that the donor tissues are hidden between the remaining hairs.  Hair follicles are taken by using instruments such as a gold needle or a micro motor. Not to harm other tissues, instruments used in the operation must be very little and sharp, that is so important. Collected healthy hair follicles are transplanted into the hair loss area. In there, tissues are nourished with diffusion method and they are kept healthy. A hair follicle develops to form one or three hair follicles.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of Unshaved Hair Transplantation?

In this method, there are no aesthetic disadvantages. The patient does not have any aesthetic concerns because he/she does not look like having an operation from the outside. Postoperative pain occurs in minimal amounts. Hair follicles are more likely to retain. The chance of success of the operation increases with this method. However, as it is a method that requires sensitivity, if it is performed by unprofessional people, there will be undesirable consequences. The operation takes longer than other methods used. It is also difficult to reach the hair follicles because the hair is not shaved. This can damage the hair follicles.
